Emily, a member of the US Navy, first contacted me about her wedding when she was serving in Japan with her husband, Danny, a US Marine. So excited about their wedding, Emily and Danny were counting down the days until Danny’s tour was over and they could return to the states to reconnect with family and friends and really start making their visions come to life. In one of her first emails, I knew that Emily was going to be an absolutely ideal bride to work with: “I’ve been engaged since last July and have been pretty fervently looking for a photographer and had yet to get that “feeling” until I saw your website last night. There are so many talented photographers in Boston that I thought it would be near impossible to make a decision- but there is something about your photos that is so much more vibrant and with such greater energy than others. It’s very obvious that you know exactly how a woman (at least this woman!) wants to feel on her wedding day.” Not only was Emily so sweet and bubbly over email, but she was a glam girl. I was so excited to work with this awesome couple and to photograph a couple who serve their country. I felt so honored. What I could not anticipate was how absolutely amazing Emily and Danny’s day would be. Emily is a woman of my own heart, someone who wears her heart on her sleeve. Danny looked at her so sweetly every chance he got and both of their families were so incredibly sweet, supportive and loving of this couple. I was joined by my fantastic colleague, Chris Coe as we started at the beautiful Boston boutique hotel, The Eliot Hotel. Beauty in Motion made Emily and her maids look flawless and I was in love with Emily’s classic gown from Priscilla of Boston complete with Christian Louboutin shoes. Desiring amazing wedding pictures in Boston’s historic Beacon Hill and the Boston Public Garden, Emily and Danny had a beautiful first look on the Commonwealth Mall. Saint Cecilia Parish was the perfect church both in architecture and positive energy from Fr. John Unni to seal Emily and Danny’s covenant and smiles erupted from everyone as Emily crossed the arch of swords with her husband. Emily and Danny’s reception at the Trustee Ballroom at Boston University was gorgeous and the vintage travel theme perfectly captured Emily and Danny’s love that has crossed the globe. The love of family was incredibly palpable and through distance, these families have learned to cherish every single moment together that much more. This day was a glamorous and iconic Boston wedding day and was filled with tears of joy and love as well as smiles that were inspiring and infectious. I am so proud of these images and so honored to have shared in such a beautiful celebration!
Emily and Danny- What can I say, but thank you? Thank you for your service and for reminding me to cherish every moment. You two have such an incredible bond and I wish you every happiness on your journey through life. You will make perfect traveling companions at every turn! Thank you, thank you!
